Changkyun is the youngest member of the group, he joined the survival show "no mercy" (where monsta x was formed) in ep. 8 and was the 6th member selected to debut.He joined late and that brought difficulties for him but he said on the final ep. "I want people to recognize me as who I am, I.M, not as the guy who joined at the middle of the show".Before "no mercy" he was part of a boygroup called Nu'bility, planned to debut on 2014 after a training period of 2 years but which was canceled.He's korean but lived 7 years abroad because of his father’s work, his father is a scientist and he said if he wasn’t an artist he would have studied science too. His role model is his father.Changkyun has a degree in arts and culture management.He’s the most fluent english speaker in the group so he’s in charge of the language and interviews.He produces a lot with his crew CODA CREW, formed by changkyun, yoonseok and wooki. In some of the songs produced by coda crew you can hear changkyun saying "make it wooki" at the beginning <3His motto since pre-debut is "I am what I am".He has 4 tattoos, one on his right wrist, one on his shoulder, one on his back and one in his arm.His favorite color is purple 💜 his favorite animal are cats and his favorite music genres are: hip hop, jazz and r&b !
